Harvesting Water Reed in Wales with Roof Thatcher Alan Jones - Video
Topic starter
April 4, 2021 11:04 am
Harvesting Water reed locally has its benefits for the environment and the local economy. Alan Jones has been harvesting the water reed for over 30 years. The local economy and the environment both win when local materials are harvested and used on the cottages nearby. Roof thatching is a traditional craft which needs to be supported to ensure its survival. The integrity of local vernacular thatched buildings should be preserved and protected for future generations. I hope you enjoy this video from Artisan Media featuring roof thatcher Alan Jones.
